A Walk in the Park: Gyejoksan Fortress

I generally spend my weekends exploring mountains, national parks, islands, or small cities, and always with the lovingly named 'Team Awe-ful'. Team Awe-ful consists of Ben and Mary, Myles and myself. This weekend however, we were lucky enough to be joined on an excursion by the lovely Lee Family: Sarah, Joon, and Jinu, and the wonderful Rachel and Andy. Instead of venturing to a far away land, we chose to take 'er easy and stay in beautiful Daejeon.

We chose to go to a mountain that we have hiked once before recently, but to experience a different hike to the top. 걔족산 (Gyejoksan) is a beautiful mountain in Daejeon. It is an easy hike, and offers amazing views of the city we call home. Being October, we were also able to enjoy the changing colours of autumn. It was a beautiful day, cool crisp air, clear blue sky, and perfect for a leisurely hike and a picnic at a mountain top fortress with the best company possible.

A view of the Daejeon lakes...the beauty not fully captured on camera.

A beautiful day, with beautiful people, in a beautiful country...what a beautiful life!

Love you all!
